QUALITY POLICY
HNMS's mission is to provide meteorological support for the benefit of the National Defence, the National Economy and the Society.
As the one & only certified MET service provider of Hellas, our permanent goal is to continually develop and improve our services.
More specifically, our quality policy targets in supporting aviation and shipping through:
- Provision of reliable weather observations and forecasts to the national and international aviation and shipping, according to the International Organizationsâ specifications and the end users requirements.
- Provision of early warnings in case of severe weather phenomena.
- Provision of thorough and concrete aeronautical information with the use of state of the art technology.
- The maintenance of the certification as a provider of meteorological aeronautical services in accordance with the current legislation & the legislation on the Single European Sky (SES) and especially with the EU 2017/373 and EU 2018/1139.
- To provide Maritime Safety Information as part of the Worldwide Met-Ocean Information and Warning Service (WWMIWS) within the framework of the Global Maritime Distress & Safety System (GMDSS).
In order to achieve these objectives we commit ourselves to the following principles:
- The uninterrupted and continuous monitoring, with simultaneous dissemination within HNMS of the applicable international standards and especially of the legislation of the Single European Sky.
- Ensuring the prompt and correct implementation of the regulatory provisions with the relevant reporting and updating of the aeronautics-related procedures of the Quality System.
- Regular cooperation with the International Meteorological Organizations and European Meteorological Centers for the atmospheric models development.
- Close cooperation with air navigation agencies ,such as, Search and Rescue, Hellenic Aviation Authority , Athens International Airport and Fraport Greece by concluding Memorandums of Understanding.
- Adequate staffing through the systematic recruitment of appropriate and highly component personnel.
- Continuous & specialized personnel training.
- Meteorological station network infrastructure upgrade.
- Maintenance and calibration of the measuring equipment.
- Conduction of studies in collaboration with National Research Institutions in the field of atmospheric sciences.
- In house software development for operational purposes.
- Implementation of the EN ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Continual monitoring and improvement of the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
